Recent Program Performance

Of course, we are happy to report all clients at new highs as of the end of May. Typically, we will see one program perform better than the other as trade-able volatility shifts between the intraday and daily time frames. This month provided opportunities for all programs.
We would like to mention a significant new development which affects both our Overnight and Blended Advantage programs. Through much research and live testing, we have been able to significantly reduce risk in our multi-day trades. New methodologies are allowing us to lock in profits more quickly and use a tighter stop. There is never a perfect solution to risk management, and programs still have some overnight risk that will inevitably affect them at some point. Nevertheless, we are very excited about this new component to our trading.

The Big Picture

As the market reaches highs, we are watching the cycle of action/reaction closely. May was an excellent month for trading as volatility rose and new highs were tested. Currently that price movement has come to a pause, and this is a potential point of rejection.
Investors are bullish and their cash levels are reaching historic lows, it is worth considering the possibility of a significant correction in the markets. Recently some cracks have appeared in the foundation as volume that pushed the indices to new highs was lagging, and the number of new 52-week highs similarly did not inspire confidence.
We are biased of course - movement lower translates to a higher emotional level of participants and thus more volatility. Our trading tends to be more subdued when the markets fall asleep.

Our Outlook

Volatility ebbing during the month of June could translate to the beginning of a slow and boring summer. But with a presidential election and war in Europe things never seem to get too slow! Glad to have you along for the ride.

Best regards,

Sam Beckers and Dario Michalek
