Recent Program PerformanceAll programs have rebounded and are now at, or near, new highs. As expected in this more volatile environment, both intraday and overnight trades performed well.That said, the month was marked by chaotic trading as the S&P attempted a significant pivot. We experienced several losses along the way, but our strong finish was thanks to the proven risk control methods built into our systems.To use a poker analogy: we played a lot of hands but folded most of them. The few winners more than made up for the losses.

The Big PictureThere’s no doubt that many market participants have been frustrated by recent movements in the equity markets. When prices dropped below the 200-day moving average, the market entered a zone often favored by contrarian investors. Those who feared a collapse due to Trump-era tariffs were especially caught off guard—or turned avoided looking at statements.Although markets have since rebounded strongly, it’s important to view these developments objectively. Uncertainty about the future of the global economy remains, and we believe market volatility will continue to challenge those who simply follow the crowd.

Our OutlookAs we've discussed, we believe a fundamental shift has occurred, and heightened uncertainty is likely to persist for some time. In a typical market pullback, prices would test the 200-day moving average and then rebound. But this time is different. This isn’t just technical jargon—nearly every major fund manager watches that line closely as a key indicator. What was once a level of support has now become resistance, prompting larger players to reduce risk.Soaring Pelican programs are specifically designed to perform well when markets are caught off-guard.
